SA: Bongeziwe Mabandla to play Billboard Live at Home gig
South African musician Bongeziwe Mabandla will stage a performance for Billboard's Live at Home virtual series on 22 May at 8pm CAT.
The US media and music chart giant is holding Live at Home in partnership with UK-based startup Platoon. The event, which started on 21 May and will run until 23 May, is broadcasting here. Other confirmed artists include Ghana’s Kwesi Arthur and Amaarae.
"It’s an honour to be sharing a very special performance with Billboard,” Mabandla said. “It reminded me of being back on stage and doing something I love again. I have chosen to perform songs that have resonated the most with people. Can't wait for everyone to see what we created."
Mabandla’s performance for Billboard follows his impressive Colors Home Bred showcase in April.
The ‘Khangela’ singer has in the past eight years developed and perfected a subtle sound that has resonated on a deep level with his audience. He has broadened his fan base at global level, making him one of the most talked-about contemporary African artists at the moment.
