Ifé Musiq

Ifé Musiq (born Ifechukwu Mercy Michael) is an Afropop singer and songwriter from Nigeria.

She attended Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka Nigeria where she studied and graduated with a degree in Music and Performing Arts. While studying she started playing Igbo traditional thumb piano, guitar, piano and other percussion instruments. The multi-talented musician centers her music on African culture and Heritage, this motivated her to research into traditional Igbo folk songs and recycling them into the Afro-soul genre, alternative music and pop idioms.

Ifé has featured her works on internationally recognised UK songwriting and singing platforms. Ifé's song 'Little Lady' and 'Black Bird' were accorded the highest 5 stars rating adjudicated by UK top music experts/judges. Black Bird made it to the semifinals of the competition. She was awarded certificates of recognition and participation that contained information about her outstanding potentials.

Ifé has released about eleven records. These includes her recent body of work - an Extended Play (EP) titled 'Dark Light'. Recently, she was featured on BBC News (Igbo Segment) where she reiterated her choice of Music as a profession. Ifé is ready and very prepared to take on the World Music scene with her soulful voice, compelling lyrics and appealing stage Performances. She represents many African souls seeking to journey home, seeking to have a feel of the African ideals and to represent these ideals. It takes calling to discern such journey, courage to begin it and tenacity to remain undeterred. She is set to journey almost forever on that part she is convinced that leads home.
