Bio

Keziah Jones is a performing artist from Nigeria. Born Olufemi Sanyaolu in 1968, Jones was supposed to emulate his father and take up a space in the family business. He was sent to England for the purpose and soon took up music, learning to play the piano at 13.

Busking in London, he was noticed by a former keyboard player of British band Culture Club Phil Pickett. The two began to work together leading to the debut album ‘Blufunk is Love’.

He names Fela, Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix as influences. In 2013 he released his eighth album ‘Captain Rugged, and has performed concerts the world over. He names his genres as Blu funk, Afrosurrealism, and Nigerian science fiction.
