Marsi Essomba (bantutrubadur)
Bio
Marsi Essomba, a Cameroonian artist, was born in a small village near Mbalmayo. He grew up between the bush and the city, influenced by traditional tales and proverbs from his village, as well as Western music.
During his adolescence, HipHop became popular in his hometown, and he founded several rap groups, including S-TEAM, which won several awards in 2005. This recognition opened doors for him in Europe and Africa.
He has released two albums, "À découvert" and "Bantutrubadur", which surprised critics with their eclecticism. Since then, he has participated in several competitions and festivals, including the Afro Pépites Show 2020, where he was a finalist, and the CCN Tour 2023, which he won, funded by the European Union and the French Embassy.
Marsi Essomba has toured Africa, performing at prestigious festivals such as the Masa in Abidjan, the Musical Days of Carthage, and "On a slamé sur la lune" in the Comoros.
Recently, he returned from a tour in Zimbabwe, funded by the French Embassy in Zimbabwe, where he performed at the French Alliance in Harare and Bulawayo.
