Mnaya

Mnaya is an Urban,Versatile Kenyan Artist born and raised in Nairobi Eastlands. He identifies with a unique, urban Kenyan Melodic sound called, "G-vibe", which he created with his colleagues at GSTR MUSIC.He loved music ever since he was about 5 years old. When he turned 6, he lost his mother through illness and his father sent him to live with extended family in his grandmother's house. This had an influence on him as he lived with most of his extended family who listened to different types of music.Mnaya grew up listening to different types of genres and the interest in music grew more and more.
Mnaya wrote his first lyrics when he was 11 years old right after losing a very close family member. After joining high school a few years later, he decided to be a part of the Music and Drama clubs, while also being active in sports. His focus was mostly on Music and he performed in Solo and Choral verses during 'The Kenya National Music Festivals' ,which he took part of in the whole of the 4 years he was in high school.
He joined college and began taking a degree course in IT but later dropped out to pursue music.
This is when he decided to take it seriously and in a few months released his first song, " NO HOOK", which he collaborated on with Creamy Wess.
Following the success of the "NO HOOK" official video,GSTR MUSIC, was officially born, which included Mnaya, Zeuss, Sir Zenny Beats and Creamy Wess .Later they were able to acquire their own recording space and that is when his longtime friend, Sir Zenny Beats Stepped up. He was a Music producer and also a Music Student at Kenyatta University . They all joined forces and together, released singles back to back for 10 weeks straight, the singles included, "HOW WE MOVE", "POP UP", "TAKE OVER","PERFECTIONIST" and many more, as some of them included music videos, with the last of the singles being 'TIME NI SLOW' which Mnaya was featured on by Creamy Wess. All this was done in a period that was very tough to move around as it was during the Covid-19 outbreak . Later that year they dropped their first studio album, "RAMPAGE" . It was a success as it brought a new fresh sound to the Local market . A hit song on this album , "YABBA YABBA", was released with a Music video which was a success and the video signaled a rise in standards. Despite expected backlash from friends and family at the time,Mnaya followed his little success with more singles and eye catching music videos such as, "LEVEL" ,"FBF refix" and "SKI CHALLENGE", all directed by Zeuss.
Always being active,Mnaya has since then collaborated with GSTR MUSIC's fresh artists who have been on top of their game and brought fresh energy in to the Music Label, GSTR MUSIC. These artists include,Jake Arthur, Trap the Kid, Timothy Best...
