Bio
Mel Matsinhe pianist and singer.
Born in Mozambique, the artist's art seeks to connect with the ancestry of her people and to bring healing into the performance space.
Mel is a poet and a children's story author, who retells the History of Africa from the perspective of a black woman.
Mel Matsinhe runs Xiluva Artes, a center for promotion of arts and culture for underprivileged children in Mozambique.
She is studying PhD in Music (DMus) at University of Pretoria.
In addition, she is Vice-president of the African Music Council for the Southern African region since 2024.
