Hakkiesdraad Hartman

Hakkiesdraad Hartman is a hip-hop artist, poet, edu-tainer and community activist. He has been an active performer since 2009 and has released 3 albums independently and 2 collaborative efforts with a mix of artists in George, his hometown.
He has appeared in a number of high budget musical theatre productions including the Fiesta Award winning productions “Die Riel van Hip- Hop” and “Hip-Pops”. In 2018 he performed alongside rock-star Francois Van Coke and the opera singer Lynelle Kenned with the Johannesburg Youth Philharmonic Symphony at the live broadcast of the Fiesta Awards held in the Monte Casino, Johannesburg.
He was nominated for a Ghoema Award in 2019 and is a regular at the KKNK, Woordfees and the Outenikwa Stat Africa Day Festival. As an ambassador of WOW(Woorde Open Werelde, University Stellenbosch), he visits high schools in the Garden Route, Klein and Central Karoo area, and gives a poetry lesson built around motivational speaking and musical performance.
He directs and produces his own music videos and is set to release his next album "Sida Ge Ni Dans" late in 2026. He has starred in 2 kyknet/Showmax movies ‘Moordenaars Karoo’ and ‘Weerwraak’ and can currently be seen in the popular ETV sit-com ‘Ouma Sarie’ as the character ‘Dominee Venter’.
