Graduated with honors from the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory in lute and tres classes.
In his third year at the conservatory, after a tour in Norway, he was invited as a guitar professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music. I was forced to refuse the offer due to the need to complete my studies. A year later, in my 4th year, I received an invitation to visit India to perform in front of the country’s president as part of an orchestra.
Upon returning to his homeland, he was a professor of tres at the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory for three years. At the same time, he performed as part of the Asi San group, recording three albums with them under the Egrem label. The orchestra toured Spain, France and China.
At the invitation of the quartet, Acontratiempo moved to the city of Matanzas to perform in music shows as a vocalist. After some time, he received a position as professor of the history of Cuban music at the National School of Arts. In 2017, at the invitation of Irina Chesnokova, he moved with the musicians to Moscow, renaming the orchestra Hot Havana orchestra, becoming its leader.
In 2020 he won the Talented Russia Grand Prix. In 2022, based on the large composition of the Hot Havana orchestra, the quartet Dariel Rene & Hot Havana jazz trio was created, performing exclusively Cuban jazz from the 40s to modern new wave performers.
A distinctive feature of the group was the performance of Cuban religious music, presented in the style of Afro-Cuban jazz.
