Adolphe Bagabo

Bio

Kamichi, born Adolphe Bagabo, is a Rwandan Afro-beat and RnB artist. He is distinguished by his unique and hoarse vocal delivery. As a child, he sang in local choirs. The 2009 release of his collaboration with The Ben on the song ‘Zoubeda’ brought him popularity and won him the 2010 Salax Award in the Best Song of the Year category. That same year he also won a Salax Award in the Best Afro-beat Artist category. In 2012, he released his second album called ‘Ubumuntu’. In December 2013, he launched an album called ‘Mudakumirwa’ at Kigali Serena Hotel. The ten-track album has songs like ‘Ako kantu’, ‘Barandahiye’, ‘Sinazuyaza’, ‘Nga yamabati’,’ Isindw.com’, ‘Uyu Mwanya’, ‘Amata Abyaye Amavut’ and ‘Katima Kanje’ featuring Kidumu among others.

In 2013 he left Rwanda to study in the U.S. He was supposed to return to home in August 2014 but he never showed up, before leaving for the U.S. he became known for his song called ‘Barandahiye’.
