BlackSheep

Bio

BlackSheep (real name Naka Shimwino) is a kwaito / hip-hop artist who was born on 20 May 1981 and attended Centaurus High School in Windhoek. His passion for hip-hop began when he was 12 years old while listening to rap icons such as Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Eazy E and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. While in high school, Naka often performed in talent shows.

BlackSheep later met Qonja, who gave him the opportunity to feature on a song called ‘Plaak’. The song featured Gazza, another influential kwaito artist to come out of Namibia. Despite being signed to Lowkey Productions, BlackSheep joined Gazza on his tours. Later on, Black Sheep decided to sign his music to Gazza Music Productions, Gazza’s record label. The two artists collaborated on a song called ‘Sixxa’. In October 2010, BlackSheep released his debut album, ‘The Blacksheep Show’. In 2014 he released a new album, ‘Exodus’, produced by Samm-e Lee and including the tracks ‘Hola Kanjani’ (featuring Gazza) and ‘Omaludo’ (featuring Adora).
