Permithias

Bio

Born on 15 April 1989, Permithias Nelioth Owoseb is an artist who was raised by his mother and started singing on the streets as a teenager in order to earn a living. In 2011, he started singing at ‘Song Night’, a popular local music show where many local musicians converge to showcase their talents.

Permithias shot to fame in 2014 during the ninth season of the reality TV series ‘Big Brother Africa’ (BBA). Following his eviction from the show he began to take music more seriously as a career. He has released songs such as ‘Nhlizo Tombazani’, ‘/Ami Xa’ and ‘Mira’, among others. His songs are typically an expression of love. For example, ‘Nhlizo Tombazani’ tells a story of a man who appreciates the love he gets from his partner, while ‘/Ami xa’ is about a man who acknowledges that he made mistakes but is optimistic that his relationship will grow despite any challenges.

Besides Windhoek, he has also performed in Zambia and Rwanda. In March 2015, Permithias and former BBA representative for South Africa, Nhlanhla, were in Rwanda to support their Rwandan counterpart Frankie Joe for the launch of his debut album ‘Alive to Love’. Apart from music, the soulful pop artist is also a professional sushi chef at Fruit & Veg City.
