Patoto Pa Sweetstar (born Aron Cheruiyot Rotich on 9 June 1992 in Chepalungu Constituency, Bomet County, Kenya) is a leading Kalenjin Benga musician celebrated for his romantic love songs, polished production style, and energetic performances. He began his music journey around 2011, initially working as a dancer for the late Kalenjin star Diana Chelele before transitioning into a full-time recording artist. His early breakthrough came with the release of his debut album Helmetit (2011), alongside the hit single “Arap Naeni,” which quickly established him as a household name within the Kalenjin secular music scene.
Over the years, Patoto Pa Sweetstar has built a reputation for professionalism and innovation, often credited with elevating the visual and sonic quality of Kalenjin music. His sound, rooted in Benga, blends contemporary production with themes of love, relationships, and social life, appealing to a wide audience across Kenya and the diaspora. His influence extends beyond music, inspiring a new generation of artists to adopt higher production standards and a more global outlook.
