Mex

Mex (Emeka Ossai) is a Nigerian music video director and graphic animator. He was born in Lagos and educated at Ladoke Akintola University. He holds a degree in Computer Science.

His interest in video began in 2001 piqued by schoolmate friends. In 2004 he started off as animator, making cartoons for television and directing promo videos.

His initial videos employed tricks his background as animator provided, chiefly the use of visual effects. These include MI’s ‘Safe’, which boosted his profile; Morachi’s ‘Hapuya Like Dat’ and Dipp’s ‘Dangerous’. Later videos like Jesse Jagz’s ‘Murder Dem’ and DJ Neptune’s So Nice show a less-effect driven style of music video making by the director.
Mex runs Pixel Chaos, a digital media company. He is also the head of Mex Films.
