Soweto’s Finest is a South African dance and music group from Soweto, Johannesburg, widely known for combining high-energy street dance with modern electronic, Amapiano, and house music. The group became famous for pioneering the township dance style “Isbhujwa” and for delivering energetic stage performances at major entertainment and sporting events in South Africa and internationally. Founded in 2006, the crew started as a street dance collective performing in townships and dance battles across Soweto. Over the years they developed into a full entertainment brand performing on global stages, releasing music, hosting events, and choreographing for television and music videos. Breakthrough Moment:One of the biggest turning points for Soweto’s Finest came in 2010 during the 2010 FIFA World CupThey were selected to choreograph and perform a dance piece during the World Cup closing ceremony, where they taught large groups of dancers the Isbhujwa dance style. This global exposure helped the group gain international attention.
