Bio
Allex & Shyer are a music duo from Namibia, known for their vibrant blends of Afro-pop, kwaito, reggae, Afro-house and amapiano-inspired sounds. They have been active in the Namibian music scene for over a decade, building a loyal following through hit singles, energetic performances, and evolving musical styles.

Allex & Shyer first began performing together in 2010, initially gaining attention in northern Namibia and eventually expanding their audience nationally. Their earliest success came with their debut hit single “Handishikongo” in 2010, which received significant airplay on local radio. They followed this with “Yolanda” featuring Mushe in 2013, further increasing their visibility.
Albums & Musical Style
- Through Thick n Thin (2015) – Their debut album blended kwaito, reggae and Afro-pop and earned them a nomination at the Namibia Annual Music Awards in 2016.
- Don’t Judge Me (2017) – Continued their fusion of Afro-pop, kwiku and reggae-dancehall with tracks like “Wendy,” “Don’t Judge Me,” “Chore Mbunda,” “I Promise,” and “Tonya.”
- Fire Can’t Cool (2022) – Marked a stylistic shift toward Afro-house and amapiano, highlighting the duo’s versatility and willingness to explore contemporary Afro-dance trends. The album features songs like “Check On My Time,” “Mr Party 2022,” “Namesho,” and “Monalisa.”
Their recorded output continues into 2024 and beyond, including singles such as “Follow You” released on 1 June 2024 — showcasing their Afro-beat direction and expanding digital presence across global music platforms. Allex & Shyer have built their reputation on energetic vocals, danceable rhythms, and cross-genre appeal. Starting with traditional Afro-pop and kwaito foundations, they have embraced newer sounds like amapiano and Afro-house to stay contemporary and relevant. Their music is popular in clubs, on Namibian radio, and increasingly on digital streaming platforms.
