Windy Molope, professionally known as IQ the Truth, is a South African songwriter, rapper, and music producer born on 4 August 1994 in Turfloop, Mankweng, within the village of Ga Mothapo, Limpopo Province. His artistic identity and musical practice are rooted in a tradition of conscious hip-hop that foregrounds lyrical depth, intellectual engagement, and socio-cultural commentary.
IQ the Truth commenced his professional music career in 2008, marking the beginning of his development as a songwriter, producer, and rapper. From this period, he actively cultivated his skills as a musical entertainer, gradually establishing a distinctive artistic voice. Over the course of his career, he released a number of songs, including Hold On, Top of the List, Switched Up, and Strictly for the Streets, which collectively contributed to the consolidation of his artistic brand and public profile.
In 2020, IQ the Truth informally established The Truth Family, a creative collective and record label that later achieved formal corporate registration in 2021. As the proprietor and lead adherent of The Truth Family, he has played a central role in shaping its artistic vision and organisational direction. His growing prominence was further reinforced by the release of his single Eya Dinong, which garnered a dedicated following and contributed to the institutionalisation of The Truth Family as a record label.
Through his sustained engagement with music production, lyrical authorship, and cultural leadership, IQ the Truth occupies a significant position within South Africa’s contemporary hip-hop landscape.
