Chosen Becky

Chosen Becky (born Rebecca Kukiriza on 20 February 2000) is a Ugandan contemporary R&B singer and songwriter known for her soulful voice, emotionally honest lyrics and faith-centred outlook. Rising to national prominence from Masaka before relocating to Kampala, she has become one of Uganda’s most recognisable modern female music artists.

Chosen Becky first entered the public spotlight after impressing music executive Joseph Kilangwa during a singing competition in Masaka. This opportunity introduced her to the professional music world, where she launched her career in 2017 with the single “Byabangi.” Her major breakthrough followed soon after with the song “Bankuza,” which received widespread radio play and firmly established her as a rising voice in Uganda’s R&B and Afro-influenced pop space.

Her music is defined by emotional storytelling grounded in everyday experiences — love, heartbreak, faith, family and personal growth.
