Amukelani Malenda

Amukelani Malenda born in Giyani,Hlaniki, Limpopo, South Africa is a singer, songwriter, composer, emerging DJ and producer, she is working on her first self produced single.

Amukelani was born and raised in Giyani. She discovered her gift for story telling earlier on in her life, and in what began as a way and means for her to showcase her bespoke onstage wardrobe, it evolved and took on a new trajectory with a mission to use music as a healing catalyst. To that end Amukelani has released 3 solo projects, with ‘Malenda’ an EP with 4 tracks released July 2021, also in 2021 she released a single ‘Bazali bethu’, this was followed up by another single in 2025 ‘5 star guiter’. Amongst the solo releases, Amukelani has also had some notable features across the genres she operates in, ‘Washa’ Just Bheki and Sir Trill featuring Amukelani. ‘Egoli’ Eminent Fam featuring Amukelani, ‘Inyathuko’ Eminent Fam featuring Amukelani, ‘Lalela’ Hypnotic Soul featuring Amukelani. 

Amukelani has also had some notable live performances, these include the prolific backyard live music venue in Soweto, Sawubona Music Jam, she has performed at the legendary Market Theater where it was a showcase alongside South African jazz greats, she has performed at the Soweto Arts and Culture Festival and at Giyani Arts week.
