Bio
Musa Keys (real name Musa Appreciate Makamu) is a South African singer, record producer, DJ and songwriter best known for his work in the amapiano genre. He was born in Giyani, Limpopo, and raised in Flora Park, Polokwane. Musa Keys’ musical journey began early — he developed a love for music after learning piano at church as a teenager, later expanding into production and songwriting.
He first gained recognition with songs like “Samarian Boy” and rose to major prominence in 2021 with the hit single “Vula Mlomo” (featuring Sir Trill and Nobantu), which was certified double platinum in South Africa.
Musa Keys is known for his melodic, groove-based amapiano sound and has earned acclaim both locally and internationally. He won awards like Best Styled Artist at the Metro FM Music Awards and has received nominations for major accolades, including a Grammy nomination for his contribution to “Unavailable.”
Today he continues to shape the South African music scene with his productions, performances and creative releases.
