Bio

Abdul Hafiz Salifu, a renowned Film Director, Cinematographer and Producer from Accra, Ghana, has gained multiple prestigious awards for his exceptional talent. He is the founder of Digital Creative Media and also serves as a creative consultant for local and international brands.

Abdul Hafiz has an impressive portfolio of shooting documentaries for esteemed entities such as USAID, BBC, BAN KI-MOON CENTRE, IFAD, Global Citizen as well as renowned personalities like Idris Elba, Vic Mensah, Sarkodie, Mr Eazi, and others.

His debut feature film ‘Fifty Fifty’ was a joint project with the renowned Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson. When the film was released in African cinemas, it garnered an impressive audience of over one hundred thousand people within the first week.

In July 2016, Hafiz's first documentary film titled 'North to South' focused on the story of young women who migrate from rural to urban areas in Ghana. These women faced homelessness and dangers on the streets of the capital city. The documentary received recognition by being selected for the UN Plural-Plus Shortfilm Competition, where it emerged as the ultimate winner out of sixty-six submissions worldwide.

In 2023, Hafiz collaborated on a short film called 'Otokunor.' The film portrayed the struggles of a young boy who was forced into child labor, depriving him of his chance to pursue his dreams of becoming a world champion in boxing. Shortly after its release, 'Otokunor' received three selections at international film festivals in the United States, South Africa, and Nigeria. These selections occurred within the first week of the film's debut.

Alongside his fervor for filmmaking, Hafiz actively dedicates himself to training and mentoring aspiring filmmakers and photographers. Over the past decade, he has successfully trained and guided numerous young filmmakers hailing from Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Canada, and the United States. In collaboration with Academic City University College in Ghana, Hafiz conducted a highly successful public workshop called "Fine Cinematics Workshop," attracting over one hundred participants from various regions of Ghana.

As a brand ambassador for Aputure Lighting, Amaran Lighting, Deity Microphone, ZGCine, and Hollyland Technologies, Hafiz secured support that offered workshop participants the opportunity to test and experience top-tier filmmaking equipment.

Recognized for his influence and remarkable creative works, Abdul Hafiz holds the esteemed position of brand ambassador for reputable filmmaking brands in China and the United States. His primary focus lies in producing high-quality creative content for both brands and individuals, all while actively investing in and inspiring the next generation of filmmakers.
