Ornella Kayitaba

Bio

Ornella Kayitaba is a music educator, concert curator, and community advocate with a deep passion for creating platforms that inspire, uplift, and bring people together through music.

For nearly three years, she served as a curator for Sofar Sounds, a global movement known for intimate live music experiences in unique settings. During her time at Sofar, Ornella worked with numerous local and international artists, creating spaces that offered truly unique and memorable musical experiences.

Having recently stepped down from her role at Sofar, Ornella is now focusing on curating gospel music concerts across Rwanda, aiming to foster spiritual encouragement and musical excellence within the Christian community.

She is also the founder of a new project supporting individuals recovering from addiction, offering hope, healing, and community through faith-based engagement and creative expression.

Ornella is also currently serving full-time as a Music Teacher at Virunga Valley Academy, an American Christian school in Musanze, where she teaches music theory, instruments, and vocal training across age groups. She also leads the school choir, helping students grow in confidence, skill, and purpose through music.

Additionally, she is the founder of Room For Art Charity, a non-profit initiative that partners with small NGOs to amplify their impact through entertainment-driven events. By combining performance and philanthropy, Room For Art provides artists with meaningful platforms while supporting community-based organizations.

Ornella holds a degree in Computer Science, earned in China, and brings both technical and creative insight to her work in education, the arts, and community development.
