Lerato Matsoso

Bio

Telling stories has always been part of Lerato’s journey, from when she first penned her thoughts through poetry during her high schooling years to when she first wrote an article for the Daily Sun in 2009.

Lerato rose up the ranks from when she walked into Media 24 – Daily Sun and Sunday Sun newspapers in 2009, became permanent in 2012 and was appointed the Entertainment Editor for both publications in 2013 for 12 years.

In 2021, Lerato joined CAPASSO (Composers, Authors and Publishers Association) as the Stakeholder Relations and Membership Manager which is a Digital Rights Licensing Agency based in Johannesburg - South Africa, which collects and distributes royalties to its members :music publishers and composers.

Having grown up in White City Jabavu, Soweto, her love for music, arts and the entertainment industry was shaped by the environment around her and it shaped who she is currently.

Having become one the youngest editors on the desk, a challenging task that she was tasked with has opened doors for her many ways than one. Including sparking her love for edutainment as imparting knowledge to artists and lovers of the art space on how they can grow as brands.

Interacting with international and local stars from all walks of life while feeding her other passion on landing a helping hand to those in need has opened up the world.
