David Tinning

David co-founded Santuri East Africa with Gregg Tendwa in 2013, after finding a shared passion for futuristic forms of East African music.  Santuri has since gone on to releases scores of tracks that have received global acclaim, as well as developing the Santuri Electronic Music Academy (SEMA), offering courses for music producers in Nairobi that balances technical skills with community and culture focussed topics. David has previously worked for Native Instruments (twice), Tanzania Heritage Project, and Sauti za Busara. He’s also freelanced for Ableton, managed the Berlin showcase platform CDR, and is on the advisory board at Cashmere Radio, where he also hosts a show.
