Teedo Love

DJ Teedo Love (born Noluthando Rotwane) is a South African DJ, cultural curator, and creative entrepreneur whose journey began in Johannesburg’s male-dominated reggae and dancehall scene. What started as a brief moment behind the decks quickly evolved into a lifelong passion, as she honed her craft and expanded her sound across multiple genres, becoming one of the country’s most versatile open-format DJs.

Her early career saw her rise to prominence as a resident DJ at two of South Africa’s most iconic reggae institutions, Tandoor and Bassline, where she played alongside Admiral and Jah Seed for over seven years. During this time, she built a reputation for her high-energy sets and deep musical knowledge, earning top honours at the SA Dancehall DJ Clash in 2007, 2010, and 2011.

Teedo Love has performed on some of the biggest stages in South Africa, including Oppikoppi (2017), Smoking Dragon Festival (2018), Pan African Rum Fest (2019), and the Soul Candi Spring Fiesta (2011, 2014, 2015). She has also been part of major cultural moments such as the Arts Alive Joburg New Year’s Eve Countdown (2015, 2016) and Arts Alive Culture Clash (2016, 2017). Her career highlights include opening and closing for Damian “Jr Gong” Marley during his 2017 South African tour, as well as performing alongside acclaimed artist Thandiswa Mazwai.

Her excellence has been recognised with multiple awards, including Best Reggae & Dancehall Female DJ at the Mzansi Reggae Music Awards for three consecutive years (2013–2015).

Beyond South Africa, Teedo Love has taken her sound to international audiences, with performances across Europe, including Germany and Amsterdam, further cementing her global footprint. She has also toured regionally across Botswana and throughout South Africa, performing in cities such as Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Limpopo, and the Northern Cape.

Known for her dynamic stage presence, she seamlessly blends DJing with performance, incorporating dance into her sets and coining the signature identity #TheDJThatDances.

In addition to her DJ career, Teedo Love is also a respected figure in the creative industry, working across music, film, and cultural programming, and continues to build platforms that support and elevate emerging talent.
