Coal Train Marimba Band

Coal Train Marimba Band (Formerly known as AFRIDA) is a community arts based organization that is committed in making good African music and keeping the African music, Arts and Culture of South Africa alive.

We hail from the city of Johannesburg, and we are a five piece band, all joined by one purpose only which is to make good music.

Our Mission is to create a service oriented platform to promote and explore South Africa's vast arts and cultural varieties to help build locally based sustainable arts & culture industry while enhancing the socio-economic status of the country’s Artistic communities.

We also engage in activities that encourages youth within our communities to get involved in a variety of after school activities that would help our young busy and channel their efforts in the direction through music, dance and drama.

Our passion is music, and music is our passion.
