As a multi-faceted, genre-fluid artist, Vallerie seamlessly blends Hip-hop, R&B, Pop, and Afro-fusion, drawing inspiration from icons like Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, and Childish Gambino. Her undeniable charisma and stage presence have captivated audiences across the continent, sharing stages with renowned local and international stars including Burna Boy, Nasty C, Sauti Sol, Shekhinah, and Lady Leshurr.
A dynamic storyteller, Vallerie infuses her music with cinematic flair, choreography, and bold visual narratives. Beyond her artistry, she is a creative force who masterfully weaves cinematography, voice-over work, event hosting, and creative direction into her growing empire. Her standout COLORS X Studios review for "Brown Suga" highlighted her effortless confidence and commanding flow, while her voice-over work has become a campaign favorite for brands like Nice and Lovely Kenya and L'Oréal East Africa.
In 2024, Vallerie solidified her position as a powerhouse creative. She released her sophomore EP, Vision 2020, featuring a highly celebrated collaboration with BIEN of Sauti Sol. The project, praised for its authenticity and ambition, fueled her #Vision2020Tour across East Africa, with unforgettable performances in Tanzania and Uganda. Alongside her musical milestones, Vallerie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism (Public Relations & Advertising concentration) from USIU Africa and holds a Diploma in Music Production, affirming her commitment to mastering both the creative and business sides of her career.
Her growing influence extends to culture-shaping spaces: she was invited to judge two major ballroom events — Altær's Afrobubblegum Ball in Dar es Salaam, where she also delivered a powerful live performance, and Haus of Andeti's Denim on Denim Kiki Ball. A lifelong admirer of ballroom culture, these moments marked a full-circle celebration of community, expression, and artistry.
Vallerie’s single "SHAKE," a viral collaboration with Kenyan sensation Lil Maina, dropped in December 2024, adding another layer to her versatile musical catalogue. Her earlier single "SEXY" was synced on Pharrell’s Drapetomaniax: Unshackled History podcast by OTHERtone, and its music video — directed, styled, and co-choreographed by Vallerie herself — amassed over 870,000+ views on YouTube and earned her a full-page spread in Kenya’s Daily Nation.
A proud alumna of the prestigious Homeboyz Radio Jumpoff Freshman Class of 2018 — where she stood out as one of the youngest and only female rappers — Vallerie Muthoni has always been a trailblazer, breaking ceilings and inspiring a new generation of African creatives.
With the launch of her Proof of Concept podcast, a groundbreaking hybrid show blending broadcast radio elements to spotlight and solve issues within the Kenyan entertainment industry, and standout performances at major festivals like Beneath the Baobabs, Vallerie’s momentum is undeniable.
