Bio

Blaq Roze (real name Magenta Rose Gardenia) is a female artist from Mahikeng, a North West province in South Africa. She is a poet, songstress, dancer, writer, painter, sketch artist and actress. She was born 5 January 1989 in Johannesburg. She is the last born daughter in a family of four children. She grew up in an environment full of artists. This prompted her to become a songwriter and performer. She completed her high school in 2008 at the Northern Academy. This saw her pursuing a career in music and later broadened her scope in the arts industry.

She began recording music at different back-room studios in Johannesburg and Mahikeng. She later released a music video that featured on Channel. Her single was played on various radio stations around that time.

In 2012 Magenta took an active interest in theater and explored new ways to express herself. She worked in various theater houses such as Africa Umoja, Exquisite, A.L.E.C and Olive tree Theater (phases of Mira). She is a very talented outspoken young woman.

She has produced music for young hip-hop artists in Mafikeng (North-West, South Africa).
