Keïla

Bio

The music Keïla creates mirrors her heritage: rich, diverse, and profoundly unique. Weaving together French, Creole, English, and shiKomori, her songs reflect both her roots — Comorian-Malagasy and Caribbean — and her many influences, ranging from R&B and hip-hop to Maloya. They also convey the twists and turns of her life journey, having grown up between Paris, London, and Réunion Island.

An ode to healing, balancing love and pain, tragedy and peace, her album Pure spans the full spectrum of emotions, like a call to transcendence. Introduced by an acoustic version of Spiritual Healing (featured in the documentaries Verbatim, directed by Sabrina Hoarau and produced by Canal+, and Venus d’ailleurs by Patrick J. Exenat, awarded at the Cannes International Pan-African Film Festival), this inaugural project is carried by the singles Paré (whose video entered rotation on Trace TV) and Valsons (also released as a live session on YouTube), before being performed on stage throughout summer 2024 (Francofolies de La Réunion, FGO Barbara, Canal 93, etc.).

Addressing, for the first time and without filters, the challenges of the diabetes she lives with, the track Maladie is also one of the standout moments of the project.

A nuanced, engaged, and radiant universe, Keïla embodies it as a healer of the soul.
