Bio

Egyptian Project is a music ensemble that is a result of an unprecedented meeting between Jérôme Ettinger, artistic director of the project and the disciples of an Egyptian tradition. The band is the result of a long and commited collaboration between the defenders of Egyptian tradition and a young French musician who mix the sounds of the Nile delta and Cairo with the ambiances of trip-hop, electro, hip-hop, and even classical music.

Their music is a fusion of Egyptian percussions, kawala flute, arghûl, drum and rababa. In 2013, the released their album 'Ya Amar'. The music project was launched through Six Degrees Records.

The band has performed numerous in Egypt and throughout Europe, including at the famed Paleo Festival in Switzerland. Some of the conerts and festivals they have performed include Paleo festival (Nyon, Switzerland), Paris Quartier d’Été (Paris, France), Fête de la musique (Cairo - Alexandria, Egypt), Nuit du Ramadan (Cairo, Egypt), Festival d'été (Valcnce, France), Festival Les Nuits Métisses (Auxerre, France). Concerts at Le Grand Palais (Paris, France), Le Florida (Agen, France), La Batterie (Guyancourt, France), l'Atelier (Cluses, France), Le Sans-réserve (Perigeux, France).
