Bio

Jeromeo JJ is a Zimbabwean-born singer, rapper, producer, songwriter, actor and director. Jerome’s first loves are music and the stage. He started performing at the age of six. He attended Prince Edward School, where he took part in the Allied Arts competition and won three trophies. In 2008 Jerome moved to Manchester in the UK, where he attended college studying Film and Television, while recording music in private.

Jerome began to make a name on the underground scene as a singer and rapper. Performing in clubs in Manchester and London, he went on to open for acts like Raekwon, 112, Tyler Daley, KOF, JP Cooper. After college, he filmed Manchester Metropolitan University's 'Green Impact' documentary with Matthew Stanners, which enjoyed national exposure. Thereafter he started a theatre company named Boundless with writer/actor Courtney Hayles and took part in the international festival, Contacting the World. He appeared on DStv's Big Brother Africa Season 8: The Chase as a fake housemate and ended up going back into the Big Brother house as the Zimbabwean representative in Season 9: Hotshots.

He DJ’d on Fashion TV during Manchester Fashion Week. As Jeromeo JJ he featured on a collaboration with DJ Mark One titled ‘Party Up', a track that has been played in numerous high-profile clubs and has been remixed by over 10 international DJs and producers. His other productions include 'Turn Di Tune Up', 'Right From This Moment', 'Call You My Girl' and 'My Love', among others. In 2013 he took part in the ZBC's 'Harare’s Got Talent'. He is currently shooting a YouTube series called 'Building Rome', which shows JJ on his day-to-day grind, as well as meeting artists from across the globe.
