Thank You For The Music

Trackside Creative concluded its annual programming with a special tribute to three illustrious greats in South Africa’s music history namely, Letta Mbulu, Busi Mhlongo and Lebo Mathosa. In alignment with the creative hub’s ethos, that of incessantly reinforcing the memory of our country’s cultural and creative genius both visually and sonically, we found it fitting to immerse ourselves in the music of Mama Letta, Mama Busi and Aus Lebo and in acknowledgement of their astuteness we responded with the Funk being our guide, reworking their offerings and completely internalising it in the process. The result, two nights of pure, unadulterated magic and the band Thank You For The Music was born.
