Stan

Bio

After almost a decade of jumping in and out of studios without really finding what he was looking for, Stan M. Nganga, a Nairobi born multi-talented musician who was raised by a single hardworking mother and was musically inspired at a very early age through the records played by his grandmother and his aunt’s singing, came across the Eastlands-based Penya label/studio in Buru Buru.

Working with the in-house producer Wawesh he was finally able to complete what he always fought for, his 1st studio album 'Kenya Debut', in what was a short but very inspired period. The new environment allowed Stan to capture and express ideas that he had carried along with him for what seemed like forever. All the years he spent rehearsing at Alliance Francaise, where his life changed once he enrolled for French classes back in 2000 and throughout the next years he was exposed to music both by singing and dancing, are present in the 15 songs on 'Kenya Debut'. 'Kenya Debut' showcases Stan’s eclectic and unique feel. If it’s love stories, pain or joy, the way he delivers his musical message allows the listener to relate.

'Kenya Debut' is ethno/soul/jazz/latin/reggae/funk/urban but, most of all, it is local music with an international appeal. Just let yourselves go.
