Songbird Bio

Singer and songwriter ‘Songbird’ born Kgomotso Kolokoto is a Randburg based musician Born and bred in Mothotlung,North West province.
The former lead singer of the hip-hop trio ‘Mind The Soul’ began writing slam poetry and short stories pre teens inspired by her love for Hip Hop,soul,and storytelling and only later on developed her love for music and stage.The singer released her 1st collaborative studio project on 30 June 2016 entitled ‘The Village” and soon after her 7 track solo project called ‘Episodes of a Songbird’ with producer Episode.She has appeared on national and local radio stations like Power fm,Radio Veritas and Mogale FM,competed in local talent shows and has had some of her music featured as soundtracks for SA movie ‘Love By Chance’ (2017) by director Samad Davis and Mzansi Magic’s drama series ‘It’s Complicated’.The singer is currently working on her follow up EP ‘Episodes of a Songbird 2’ with producer and artist Episode due for 2019.
