JCFI Music Ensemble is an all-female band from South Africa.
The ensemble size varies from time to time depending on the music presented and as per request. The group was formed to strengthen the ties woman share as a collective through music. The members grew up in various parts of South Africa until they were brought together by Jazz Camp For Female Instrument (JCFI), which is an organisation focusing of empowering female artists.
Their inspirations and influences are a derivative of their different backgrounds. Most of the members are part of a JCFI. Their music is mainly Jazz, African Music and fusion. Bringing all the African sound across cultures telling a story from the old and new generation. The band has performed together for two years. Their roots and influences originate from the different cultures.
