Bio
Born in Thabong, South Africa - Phomolo Sekamotho, better known as Flex (of He & I) is a poet MC that incorporates spoken word poetry into live music. He & I is an alternative, ‘poetry in music’, band with influences of jazz, soul and hip-hop. His writing has earned him invites to New York, Washington DC, Uppsala, Stockholm and Maseru.
“In a loud world where the noise can be so deafening, ours is to manipulate the noise and cultivate it into something strange and beautiful. We believe music, and art as a whole is changing and is changing the world one community at a time, and we’re happy to be doing our part.”
Flex works with an incredible group of musicians that serve as his band (He & I). Their debut album, Peace is of a Struggle, was released in October 2020.
