Reekado Banks
Bio
Reekado Banks (Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon)is a Nigerian singer. The last child from a largely musical family, Banks grew up in Lagos and attended the University of Lagos where he graduated with a baccalaureate in History and Strategic Study.
His professional music career started in 2014 when he was signed to the Don Jazzy owned label, Mavin Records. He released ‘Turn it Up’ which featured Mavin label mate Tiwa Savage. Same year the label released Dorobucci, a song having a verse from Banks’ and each of his colleagues. Dorobucci became one of the major hits of 2014 and introduced Nigerians to Reekado Banks, Di’Ja and Korede Bello, younger, newer members of the Mavins. Other collaborative songs have followed including ‘Adaobi’ and ‘Looku Looku’.
Following these collaborations, Reekado Banks has released the love song ‘Katapot’ (2015). He was awarded Rookie of the Year at the 2014 Headies.
