Sambu ‘D’ Unstoppable

Sambu ‘D’ Unstoppable (real name Babucarr Sambu) is Gambian born singer, songwriter, dancer, producer, actor and notable instrumentalist. He was exposed to music at young age. Back then he used to listen to top musicians like Phill Collins, Paul Simon, Michael Jackson and Ifang Bondi. These artists later inspired him to become a musician. His breakthrough was in the 2002 in Berlin, Germany when his uncle, who discovered his talent, introduced him to a German producer called Henno Althoff.

They made their first single ‘Old Rodjer’, the song was never released, it became launch pad for his career as a musician. He returned to the Gambia to pursue his educational career. After completing his studies, he began showcasing his talent and spent most his time working on his music. He began writing and recording tracks in studios and released his solo hit single called ‘Heal Your Heart’. The song was rated by many as the country's Best RnB Single of The Year. It was also considered as one of the best 2009 videos of the year. The song earned him a mark in the country’s music industry. Six months later he released a chart hit song ‘Lyk Dat’. He used the song to blend his stage performances mimicking dances by artists such as Usher, Michael Jackson and P-Square.

In 2010, he took a break from studio recordings and stage performances to start lesson sessions with a couple of international producers on music production, sound engineering and instruments lessons. In 2011, he began recording and released a song called ‘So Long’ in January 2012. In 2013, he released another single called ‘Nee Rekla’. He produced the song. In November 2015, he released a debut nine-track album titled ‘Meant for Greatness’. He produced the album at Hakim of Sunland music.
