South African amapiano DJ and producer Tumi Musiq has signed a recording deal with Sony Music Entertainment Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Alongside the partnership, Tumi Musiq has released a new single titled ‘Thixo Bawo’. The track is available for streaming and download on major digital platforms. It features local artists Mia, George Lesley and Jay Sax further cementing his place in South Africa’s dynamic music scene.

The track is a prayer, acknowledging the power of music to change lives.”
On collaborating with Mia, he said: “Mia is a free spirit in the studio. She’s easy to work with, and since our musical styles align, connecting creatively was effortless.”
Tumi Musiq’s signature sound, deeply influenced by jazz and R&B, seamlessly blends raw musical instruments with soulful vocals, creating a mature and captivating listening experience. Since embarking on his musical journey in 2016, Tumi Musiq has dedicated himself to honing his craft. His debut single, ‘Let It Rain’, featuring Mick Man and Artwork Sounds, solidified his reputation as an emerging force in the industry. Tumi Musiq’s rise continued in 2024 when he got featured on the Love Season project by Russell Zuma. This collaboration underscored his growing influence and marked yet another major achievement in his career.
