Tanzania: Daada drops I’ll See You single
Upcoming Tanzania-based German-Colombian artist Daada has released a new single titled ‘I’ll See You’, which is available for streaming and download on major digital platforms.
‘I’ll See You’ blends energetic amapiano cuts with Daada’s trademark delicate songwriting. The track delivered in English and Swahili is a celebration of friendship, with the singer acknowledging that even though sometimes we are forced to part ways with people who are dear to us, they will always hold a special place in our hearts, and if fate allows we will see them again.
‘I’ll See You’ is the follow up to ‘Kiti’, another Swamapiano (Swahili-amapiano) single released in June.
Raised in Arusha, Tanzania, Daada taps into her diverse roots to write transcultural, multilingual songs that explore topics such as identity, love and home rendered in a blend of English, Spanish, German and Swahili. Her compositions are a window to her soul, speaking to fellow introverts.
In 2022, Daada’s eclectic, indie offerings landed on Spotify’s Fresh Finds GSA playlist and Global’s Smooth Chill. She was also shortlisted by Amazon Music Germany’s Breakthrough & All Hands on Deck as a Top Six newcomer.
Speaking about her future plans, Daada said: “My calling is to make music that puts differences aside and instead celebrates them by melding cultures and languages and dissolving barriers. I see myself continuing to blaze that trail and owning this unique sound, touring, writing and collaborating. Besides music itself, I want to be in a position where I can use my platform to make an impact on causes like that of nurturing and activating the potential of girl children.”
