Sheebah, Master KG nominated for Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in US

Master KG has received a nod in the Favourite Global Music Star category for his global hit 'Jerusalema'. The song went viral after it sparked a global dance craze under the hashtag #JerusalemaChallenge and was certified platinum in Italy and reached diamond status in France.

“I’ve been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award! Vote for me,” Master KG wrote on Twitter. The musician will compete with global stars such as BTS (Asia), David Guetta (Europe) and Taylor Swift (US), among others, for the grand prize.

Ugandan singer Sheebah is up for the Favourite African Star Award. Other Africans nominated include Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi and actress Thuso Mbedu, who are both from South Africa and sports personalities Mo Salah (Egypt), Sadio Mane (Senegal) and Siya Kolisi (South Africa).

Last year, South African singer Sho Madjozi walked away with the Favourite African Star Award. Ugandan dance sensation Triplets Ghetto Kids also made it on the list of nominees for the Favourite African Social Star Award. 

The Kids’ Choice Awards will be announcing new categories in the weeks leading up to the show. The voting process is open and fans can vote for their favourite nominees via the Kids’ Choice Awards official website.

Now in its 34th edition, the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards is an annual children’s awards ceremony show by the US TV network. The ceremony honours the best individuals in television, movie and music acts.
