22 Jun 2026 - 10:59
Amapiano single ‘SASEZOLA’ has emerged as one of the genre’s fastest-rising releases of 2026, achieving strong chart performances across Southern Africa after gaining traction on TikTok and other social media platforms.
The song brings together artists Novex, Born Kxng, Moonlight Africa and S.N.E, combining soulful Amapiano elements with Afro-pop influences and themes of homecoming, resilience, love and healing.
Built around the refrain, “Ngizogibela istimela sami sasezola”, the track explores the idea of returning to people, places and memories associated with comfort and belonging. Its blend of melodic vocals, rhythmic amapiano production and storytelling has helped it connect with audiences both online and on streaming platforms.
Within days of its official release, ‘SASEZOLA’ reached the top of several digital music charts. The single debuted at number one on Apple Music’s Top Songs charts in Botswana, eSwatini and Namibia, while reaching number two in South Africa. It also topped South Africa’s iTunes Top 200 chart and the Shazam Top 200 chart, and entered Spotify South Africa’s Top 50 at number nine.
The song’s popularity has been fuelled in part by user-generated content on TikTok and other social media platforms, where thousands of users have created videos inspired by the track.
Novex said the song reflects themes of personal renewal and emotional recovery.
“In many ways, ‘SASEZOLA’ is about finding your way back home, not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually. It's about remembering where you come from, embracing love, and choosing joy despite life's challenges.”
The release has attracted growing attention within the amapiano scene, with listeners responding to its combination of uplifting themes and dancefloor-oriented production.
‘SASEZOLA’ is available on major digital streaming platforms.
