SA: Rethabile Khumalo drops third album Kwelizayo
South African singer Rethabile Khumalo has released her third studio album, Kwelizayo, a project shaped by themes of healing, resilience and personal growth.
The album draws inspiration from Khumalo’s experiences and the legacy of her late mother, Winnie Khumalo, whose influence is reflected throughout the project.
Kwelizayo incorporates isiZulu, isiXhosa and Sepedi, with Khumalo combining multiple South African languages and musical influences across the album.
“This album carries pieces of my journey, my healing, and my growth,” Khumalo said. “I hope people connect with it and feel encouraged to keep moving forward no matter what they are facing.”
The album has attracted attention on digital streaming platforms and across local media since its release. Khumalo is also expected to release accompanying visuals for selected tracks as part of the album rollout.
The project marks the latest release in Khumalo’s career as she continues to establish herself within South Africa’s contemporary music scene.
