The song is available for streaming and download here and is off his upcoming EP Renegade, which will be released on 12 June.
'Rain On Me’ was released under the Bad Future Records. In the song, Deacon seeks to encourage his fans to stand strong in the face of adversity. The song was inspired by an accident, which nearly ended his career. Deacon went through vocal cord surgery and the song reflects how the operation could have changed his voice permanently.
"The lyrics are about being in a fight because it felt like the universe was beating me up and raining punches down on me,” Deacon said. “I reference not being able to speak or make any sounds at all for three weeks post-surgery, which nearly drove me insane.”
Deacon’s team wrote: “‘Rain On Me’ is a fusion of Deacon’s discography with light, flitting electronic elements, akin to an uplifting Rag’n’Bone Man’s composition, conjuring a wave of positivity. The song is not only reflective in subject matter and in feel, but the tone and musical environment is sonically modern with a vocal performance that’s unmistakable.”
