SA: 2wo Bunnies, Thuto The Human reimagine Inner City’s Big Fun
South African artist 2wo Bunnies and Thuto The Human have revisited the US electronic group Inner City’s dance classic hit ‘Big Fun’ blending the track with the electrifying energy of the amapiano genre. ‘Big Fun’ is available for streaming and download here.
Originally released in August 1988, Inner City’s ‘Big Fun’ became an instant dance classic, reaching No 1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and No 8 on the UK Singles Chart. Produced by Kevin Saunderson and featuring the soulful vocals of Paris Grey, ‘Big Fun’ introduced a new era of house music and remains a timeless anthem to this day.
The reimagined song features Jay Music and masterfully fuses the song’s original vocals and synths with amapiano’s signature rolling log drums, deep basslines, and rhythmic percussion. Known for their euphoric productions, the artists created a feel-good anthem that transcends generations and promises to fill dance floors.
The track is off the Amapiano to Ibiza EP, which showcases top talents like DBN Gogo, Kelvin Momo, Major League DJz, 2wo Bunnies, Thuto The Human, and Rosey Gold. The EP reinvents timeless hits from house legends such as Dennis Ferrer, Blaze, Joe Smooth, and Inner City, blending amapiano’s deep, soulful grooves with the nostalgic euphoria of Ibiza’s iconic dance anthems.
For Jay Music, this marks his second feature on the Amapiano to Ibiza EP, further solidifying his rising status in the genre.
2wo Bunnies, the mysterious DJ duo who have embraced anonymity, are known for their signature bunny masks, killer fashion sense, and fire performances. With sold-out shows in Berlin, Bali, and the Netherlands, and collaborations with artists like Pabi Cooper, Ch'cco and Tekno, they are fast becoming a stylish and influential force in the music scene.
