Open call: The Headies Awards 2024
Submissions are now open for the 2024 edition of The Headies Awards in Nigeria.
Launched in 2006 by Hip Hop World Magazine, The Headies celebrate outstanding feats by musicians and entertainment professionals. In recent years, the scheme has been specifically positioned as a platform honouring Afrobeats, which continues to enjoy global attention.
At last year’s ceremony, held at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, US, more than 30 prestigious awards were presented across various categories, with ‘Calm Down’ star Rema taking home three awards – the most on the night.
To be eligible for consideration in this year’s awards, all musical works must have been released between 1 April 2023 and 31 July 2024.
This year’s winners will be decided through a combination of voting and non-voting categories.
Artists or their representatives are invited to submit their entries for nomination online here.
The deadline for submission is 20 September.
The forthcoming edition of The Headies promises an array of exciting events, from a conference to a music festival. Meanwhile, the Mic Check talent show will spotlight new talent, allowing emerging artists to showcase their skills.
