
Open call: FuTopia festival in Zanzibar
Applications are open for artists and creatives from across disciplines to apply for the 2025 edition of FuTopia, a new cultural festival in Fumba Town, Zanzibar from 29 to 31 August.
- Applications are open for artists and creatives from across disciplines. The event is billed as the official sister event to the renowned Sauti za Busara festival (pictured).
Organised by Busara Promotions, FuTopia is a creative collective built on eco-conscious values, artistic innovation, and community connection. It is designed for musicians, visual artists, designers, poets, dancers, face painters, storytellers, and purpose-driven small businesses to co-create an inspiring, interactive, and sustainable experience.
This is an opportunity for creatives to:
- Showcase their work in a space that celebrates upcycling, mindful creation, and environmental respect.
- Collaborate with a vibrant network of local and international artists.
- Engage audiences through meaningful art, performance, and expression.
- Contribute to a collective vision for a soulful, sustainable future.
Whether the applicant’s medium is movement, spoken word, craft, visual art, or installation, FuTopia welcomes your voice and creativity.
Note: Due to limited funding, logistical support will only be available to a small number of participants travelling from outside Zanzibar for the first edition.
