Open call: eThekwini Municipality Arts and Culture funding
The eThekwini Municipality’s Recreation and Parks Directorate: Arts and Living Cultures has opened applications for Arts and Culture Grant-in-Aid (GIA) funding for the 2025/2026 financial year.
The application deadline is 15 February 2026.
Purpose of the call
- To support non-profit organisations (NPOs) and non-profit companies (NPCs) operating in the performing arts and cultural sector within eThekwini Municipality.
- Funding applies to programmes and activities scheduled to take place between April 2026 and June 2026.
Eligible applicants
- Registered NPOs and NPCs.
- Organisations active in the performing arts and cultural sector.
- Organisations operating within the eThekwini Municipality.

Compliance and supporting documentation
Applications must comply with all requirements outlined in the Guideline Document and include the following:
- Completed application form.
- Valid tax clearance certificate.
- Latest annual financial statements.
- Certified copy of the entity’s registration certificate.
- Certified copies of identity documents for all directors (not older than three months).
- Detailed organisational profile.
- Detailed project plan or business plan.
- Two reference letters from the creative sector (not older than six months).
- Affidavit confirming that none of the directors are employed by eThekwini Municipality or any other government department.
- Proof of the entity’s physical address (municipal bill, bank statement or proof of bank account).
- Proof of registration on the eThekwini Municipality Supply Chain Management or Supplier Database.
- Proof of registration on the Central Supplier Database.

- Closing date: 15 February 2026 at 23:59.
- Completed applications must be submitted by email to:
- Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Applicants who do not receive feedback within 30 days after the closing date should regard their application as unsuccessful.
