Nigerian duo ENE Yatt signs to Dutch label Walboomers Music
25 Apr 2022 - 10:24
Nigerian Afrobeats duo ENE Yatt has joined Netherlands-based record label Walboomers Music.
Walboomers Music was established by brothers Marc and Niels Walboomers in 1996 with a key focus on managing emerging and established artists and producers. The company is also involved in publishing and distribution of reggae, Latin, soul, hip hop and world music.
The three-year agreement was made public in a statement dated 22 April and follows the release of ENE Yatt’s single ‘Zulu’ earlier this month. The Ghana-based Nigerian acts are behind other releases including ‘Uwa’ and ‘Compose’.
ENE Yatt comprises brothers Elvis Pamo Owugah and Richard Ebi Owugah. ENE is an acronym for ‘Evil Never Ends’ while YATT stands for ‘You Are the Truth.’ The brothers’ professional music career began in 2011 following a stint as choreographers with the Exodus Dancers group.
The duo, which was previously represented by South Africa’s World Arts Agency, says it is on a mission to “reach the world through music and to give a voice to the voiceless.”
“Their music promotes the Afrobeats genre with dancehall influences and is a symbol of hope for the new generation,” Walboomers Music said. “ENE Yatt is bringing motivation to its audience and upholds the idea that anything is possible in life. They are optimistic about the future and firmly believe their music will change the world for the best.”
ENE Yatt is due to release a new album titled Journey to Accra soon.
