Celebrating 16 years of championing African music and culture, the event will be held as part of the UK/Kenya Season 2025, in partnership with the British Council.
“This is a dream come true,” festival founder Muthoni Ndonga. “Since 2008, we’ve been passionate about showcasing African talent, building a real community of fans, creatives, and sponsors, and unlocking opportunities across the live music value chain. Taking Blankets & Wine to the UK is the next step in sharing our culture and creativity with the world. It’s a testament to the festival’s power to transcend borders and bring people together.”
The Bradford edition will feature a carefully curated line-up of African artists, offering UK audiences a Blankets & Wine experience. The full artist line-up is expected to be announced in late June 2025. As part of the UK/Kenya Season 2025, the event aims to promote cultural exchange and collaboration, while continuing to uplift African artists and creatives on a global stage.
Founded in Nairobi in 2008, Blankets & Wine has grown into one of Africa’s premier music and lifestyle festivals. Known for its vibrant programming across two stages, curated food and craft markets, fashion showcases, art installations, and branded experiences, the festival has become a celebrated Sunday ritual in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. The expansion into the UK marks a significant moment in its 16-year journey.
