Ghana: Wendy Shay unveils Special Love single

The track, released on RuffTown Records, features fellow singer King Paluta. It follows her ‘Who Cares’ single, which arrived back in May. 

A fusion-based offering, ‘Special Love’ harnesses various influences, including highlife and pop. 

Thematically, the track, like its predecessor, centres on romantic love, particularly an unbreakable bond. The lyrics weave together cultural references and spiritual undertones, celebrating a love that rises above external challenges.

Wendy Shay made her music debut in 2018 with the single ‘Uber Driver’, released under the guidance of songwriter Bullet. She has since released two albums, Shay On You and Shayning Star. She is also behind the 2022 seven-track Enigma EP. 

In August 2021, she was named among six West African artists signed to South Africa’s Sheer Music Publishing as part of the company’s efforts to expand its pan-African footprint. 

Beyond music, she is behind the Shay Foundation, a charity focused on fighting poverty.
